Cagle 639 where the pagination is given wrongly although the collation is given correctly. 19cm. Later grey paper covered boards with the original printed label. Minor shelfwear on corners. Internally clean and crisp. Trimmed at the head only. A very good copy. The Preface to the Second Edition states 'Every Receipt in this work has been carefully revised for this Edition ... A considerable number of new Receipts have also been added ...' An important survey of Scottish culinary habits at the end of the Georgian era. Published the same year as the first edition, this issue is particularly scarce. Cagle is the only culinary bibliography to list it. He was unable to locate a copy in any library and had to rely on information provided to NUC by the Library Company of Philadelphia. There is a copy in National Library of Scotland.
