Sobre este artículo
xiii+155 pages with maps, charts, illustrations, tables. bibliography and indices. Quarto (10" x 7 3/4") bound in original publisher's green cloth with gilt lettering in original jacket. First edition. This study, the second volume in the series "The Archaeology of Britain," explores the evidence for pre-Roman settlement in Britain. Four aspects of the prehistoric economy are described by the author: Colonization and clearance; arable and pastoral farming; transhumance and nomadism; and hunting and gathering and fishing. These aspects have been brought together to formulate a structure which contains the evidence more naturally than chronological schemes that depend on assumed changes in population and technology. Condition: Insect damage at edges and about 1" at front head edge else a good to very good copy in a fine jacket.
