But FDR liked her lines and the Potomac became the presidential yacht. Today, beautifully restored to her glorious era, she brings alive the historic Roosevelt years. This is her whole history. 200 photos of the ship, the interiors and the famous personages who came aboard enrich the story. Capt. Walter Jaffee is a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York. Author of eight maritime books, he was chief officer of the SS Jeremiah O'Brien on her epic return voyage to Normandy in 1994 for the 50th Anniversary of D-Day.
