The spine is toned, and the binding is worn and has spotting and some light soiling. Inner front and rear hinges are cracked-cords show. There is an early bookseller's ink stamp and an owner's inscription on the front flyleaf. The ink-stamp reads, "Cleo J. Mowry - Geneva, Neb., [section of stamp too light to read] America's Greatest Family Newspaper" and "John A Dempster Dealer in Drugs, Stationery, Books & Jewelry, Geneva, Neb." The inscription on front flyleaf reads "Christmas 1880 From the Baptist S.S. To Eddie Dempster." Text has occasional smudging. Illustrated with small text drawings.
