Printed by J. H. for R. Chiswel at the Rose and Crown in St. Paul's Church-yard. London. 1682. R. Chiswel. 1682. Fourth edition. Bound in full 17th century brown calf. Rebacked with new endpapers but retaining the original spine and original endpapers. Contents: Imprimatur leaf, engraved extra title page, title-page, [xxxiv], 388 pages plus [10] pages index and adverts. COMPLETE. Joints cracked but holding. Edges of boards slightly worn, head and tail of spine lack very small portions. Old ink inscriptions to front endpapers, one dated 1789, one is in an earlier hand. Small hole in page a3/a4 of the Preface. Pages browned. Two corners missing. Some mispagination but text runs correctly. Occasional rubbing and small tears to outer margins of pages, lacks small portion from bottom corner of pages 321/322 - slightly affecting text and pages. Early ink notes to rear endpaper which has been reinforced to outer edge with binder's tape. Generally a very clean and readable copy of this work on early Christianity.
