Based on the memoirs and unpublished letters of Antoinne Philippe D'Orleans Duc De Montpensier, 1775 - 1807. A unique memoir written whilst the Prince was imprisoned under the Terror at the Fort St. Jean at Marseilles and never before translated into English. The second son of 'Philippe Egalite' he was the Duke of Orleans and brother of Louis Philippe, who in 1830 became King of the French. A1D. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
