Gilt on spine as well as three page edges. Leathers is tooled and gilt where it folds to the inside of the covers and is matched with an exceptional marbled endpapers. This is an impressive binding. Originally published in 1847. ""The poem tells the story of an heroic princess who forswears the world of men and founds a women's university where men are forbidden to enter."" Pages are clean and bright, same with the illustrations. Binding is tight and clean. Oversized or heavy volume, additional shipping charges will apply.
