Held in tact via two rubber bands. Includes a typed and signed reply letter on G. P. Putnam's Sons letterhead, reading "Sorry. No uncorrected proofs. But I do have a manuscript." Also includes the clipped address from Putnam to the author's Chevy Chase MD address. This became the first published biography written about Shirley Jackson and still considered to be one of the best. Title sheet a bit soiled and worn, otherwise in good overall condition. (fr,fs)
