Sobre este artículo

108pp. Harper & Brothers, 1906, 1931. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Black-and-white illustrations by F. Strothmann and Lester Ralph. The colophon page sates " This book was originally published as two volumes under the following titles: Extracts from Adam's Diary and Eves Diary. Because of Mark Twain's request the books are being published together in this volume". 1906 NY: Harper & Brothers; copyright 1906, but first printed in 1931. 1st edition stated, with proper E-F code. Interesting Illustrations by F. Strothmann and Lester Ralph. Those by Strothmann were meant to imitate pictographs on stone tablets but have a decidedly cartoonish and comical look. Dark blue paper boards with navy cloth spine and paper title label.

Samuel Langhorne Clemens (November 30, 1835 – April 21, 1910), known by his pen name Mark Twain, was an American writer, humorist, entrepreneur, publisher, and lecturer. He was lauded as the "greatest humorist the United States has produced," and William Faulkner called him "the father of American literature". His novels include The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1876) and its sequel, the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1884), the latter often called "The Great American Novel".

Mark Twain's ''The Diaries of Adam and Eve'' is written in diary form. There are excerpts from both Adam and Eve describing their adventures, thoughts, and perceptions of one another. Twain fashions this Biblical depiction showing what life in the Garden of Eden may have been like for a more modern culture and showcases his humor and wit throughout. This summary reveals Twain's interpretation of the Adam and Eve story.

Sobre Yamhill Book Company

"Books are everywhere; and always the same sense of adventure fills us. Second-hand books are wild books, homeless books; they have come together in vast flocks of variegated feather, and have a charm which the domesticated volumes of the library lack" – Virginia Woolf in Street Haunting

My objective is to deliver well being for the book and the buyer.
