Captured by the Nazis in France in 1940, the author endured starvation, disease, and frostbite in a variety of POW camps in Poland and Germany for the remainder of the war. He describes the plight of the enlisted soldiers in captivity as compared to the officers, but whether in solitary confinement or on the run when he managed to escape, his determination to survive pervades the story. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
