Sobre este artículo

Princeton, New Jersey: Princeton University Press, 1947. First Edition First Printing 1st Printing. Hardcover. Near Fine. In the wake of the devastation caused by the US dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima & Nagasaki, Japan, to end WWII, this report was commissioned & prepared under the direction of the Committee on Social and Economic Aspects of Atomic Energy of the Social Science Research Council. Using nontechnical language so as to reach "the whole range of American citizens,'' it was written "not in a defeatist spirit,'' but in hopes of realistically examining the promises & perils of atomic energy. The author was a Navy man who had served in the war & went on to be a Princeton professor. 116 pages. A FIRST EDITION, First Printing from 1947, this hardcover 8vo has light gray cloth-covered boards stamped with red lettering to spine. Condition is Near Fine: completely clean, binding strong & straight, pages creamy white & unmarked. Very minor rubbing to extremities. The unclipped DJ (with orig. $2.00 price intact to front flap) is VG-, with light soil & a few small wholes & chips; nicely protected in new clear mylar cover free!
