First edition; presumed first printing. The only serious problem with the book is the notations scattered throughout the book and on the back inside cover and back end-papers. Most are in pencil, some are in ink. A previous owner's name and address is stamped on the first fly-leaf page. there is some yellowing on the inside covers and end-papers. Otherwise the book is in excellent condition. tight binding, light shelf-wear on cover and cover edges, and little or no foxing or tears. We did not find any tears or foxing but we did not check every page. Binding is firm. XII + 547 pages.
