First published in 1906, this was the first installment in The Forsyte Saga, a sequence of three novels that chronicles the lives of three generations of a monied, middle-class English family at the turn of the last century. Octavo. In a full green morocco binding by Morrell of London, with handsome gilt stamping, five raised bands, and ornamental dentelles. Some general browning along the spine; otherwise very good.
Sinopsis
The Forsyte Saga is a series of three novels and two interludes published between 1906 and 1921 by John Galsworthy. They chronicle the vicissitudes of the leading members of an upper-middle-class British family. Only a few generations removed from their farmer ancestors, the family members are keenly aware of their status as "new money".
