Very Good. 580 pages, 4 1/4" x 6 3/4", red buckram with leather spine and corners. 5 raised bands with gold lettering and decoration on the spine. Mild wear at corners and spine ends. All edges marbled, marbled endpapers, Small bookbinders sticker (A. Birdsall) inside front cover and tiny former owner's name with a date of 1875 on the first blank endpaper. There is foxing on the illustrated title page and frontis. Several full page illustrations within the book have foxing. The text is bright and clear.
