Original marbled hard paper boards with leather spine, black and gilt spine label. Someone has shellacked the spine in the long ago giving it a very shiny and slightly crackly appearance. Boards have some normal wear and rubbing at the edges. Interior front hinge starting to separate, minor foxing very occasionally, a small bit of humidity staining just at the top edge at the back of the book. An interesting collection of proverbs with nice provenance. ; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 288 pages .
