Sobre este artículo
London: Hatchard and Co, 1861. Cloth. Very Good. 6" by 4". Artlett. A collection of philosophical proverbs by Martin F. Tupper, in the original decorative cloth binding. The hundred-and-fourth thousand. In the publisher's original decorative cloth. Illustrated with a monochrome frontispiece engraved by Artlett. This work was written by Martin Farquhar Tupper, an English poet, novelist and philosopher. The work is described as a 'long series of didactic moralising' with quotable lines and verses, and was a bestseller in the United Kingdom and North America. In the publisher's original gilt cloth. Externally very smart with slight fading to the spine, rubbing and bumping to the extremities with minimal closed tears to the head and tail of the spine and the front joint, light rubbing to the joints and rear. Front hinge starting after pp. viii. Internally pp. viii weak, otherwise firmly bound. Pages lightly age toned and generally clean with the odd minor spot to the front. Very Good
