Sobre este artículo

Edinburgh & London: William Blackwood and Sons, 1896. John Galt (1779-1839) had several colonial business ventures that met with limited success; but in the 1820s he wrote several novels of Scottish country life that are very well-regarded indeed. Originally published in 1822 and 1826. This is a nice little late Victorian set, two volumes in Very Good (Plus) condition. Red ribbed cloth binding, decoratively blindstamped on the front covers, with gilt lettering on the front covers and spines. Clean and bright text; 300 pages and 287 pages, with Notes and Glossary. Portrait and illustrations by John Wallace; introduction by S.R. Crockett. The Works were Edited by D. Storrar Meldrum. Top edges are gilt, others rough-cut. Minimal wear and soil;some rubbing at the spine margins. Both volumes have pencil underlining and penciled notations on the rear paste-downs; Quercus believes these to be of an academic interest, but they could be easily erased. Size: 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. First Thus.. Decorative Cloth. Very Good Plus/No Jacket. Illus. by John Wallace.
