Sobre este artículo
John Perkins, Boston, 1773. 27th Edition. Hardcover (Full Leather). Fair Condition. Book An attractive part of this book is the quaint poems the original owner has written on the verso of the title page: "Dont Stele this Book | For fear of Shame for | Underneth her lies my | name | Abigail Tucker | Hur Book Bought | May the 21st 1776 | Abigail Tucker -- | Hur Book May god | Give her grase therein | To look and when the | Bells for ^her^ Doth tole -- | ay the god of heaven | Reseive hur Sole --" The imprint reads "Printed for and sold by John Perkins." Not in Evans. Bristol's Supplement #B3526 (cf. Shipton & Mooney #42536) lists a book with the same pagination as "Boston: Printed and sold by William M'Alpine, 1773," but he does not list this variant which appears to have been printed by M'Alpine for Perkins. Size: 6"-7" - Sextodecimo (16mo). 312 pages. Item Type: Book. The text block is almost completely detached from the cover and the signatures have rounded out, though all are still attached. The text is complete, including the title page and the Table for finding hymns at the rear (pp. 304-312). The original free front end paper is intact with the signature of the original owner at the top of the page, but the rear end paper is missing. Old polished calf over wooden boards with large sections of the leather lost on the rear cover. Raised bands on the spine, but lacking any title. The cover is sprung and handing on by a single thread. The pages are toned and have some scattered spotting, but most are without marks. Quantity Available: 1. Category: Antiquarian & Rare; Hymnal; United States; 18th century; Music. Main Picture: Watts, Isaac. The Psalms of David (Boston, 1773) - Front cover and spine. Picture 2: Watts, Isaac. The Psalms of David (Boston, 1773) - Front cover with size measurement. Picture 3: Watts, Isaac. The Psalms of David (Boston, 1773) - Rear cover showing lost leather exposing the wooden board.
