Green cloth with blue endpapers, now in a protective mylar dust jacket. The first edition, first printing. On the title-page the author's name is printed in roman.; p. 91, line 4 from bottom reads, "health offi..... could hardly sweeten"; p. 101 has thirteen lines of text; advertisement for 'Mark Twain's Patent Scrap-Books' on verso of final leaf; Terminal pastedown has illustration of Mark Twain's scrapbook measuring 2 7/8" x 2". Minor foxing to pages; Minor edgewear; Tail of spine is frayed; front hinge is starting; rear hinge is cracked; endpapers show very faint impressions of a spiral doodle.
