She reached her peak reputation in France, in French opera and song. In the first part of her career she concentrated on opera---Mozart, Puccini, Massenet, Gounod--- and appeared in the U.S. just befoer WWI in "Cedrillion" with Mary Garden. During WWII, she toured the States and afterwarsd appearde in light opera, musical comedy, and even music hall.
