Franciscum Halmam, 1693. Second edition. Vellum. pp. 785 + Index. Thick 8vo. Full vellum, with hand-lettering to spine. With 14 copper plate engravings, including illustrated title page, 7 folding illustrations, and one a map. Armorial bookplate to front pastedown (P. Small Keir Esq). Text unmarked, binding and joints sound. Lovely condition. The second edition, being more ornate and compact than the first. A biography of Alexander the Great, written originally in the first century or thereabouts, in ten books; later pieced together therefrom and printed in many editions as early as the ninth century.
