[xii], 368, [48]; [viii], 322, [58]; [viii], 243, [29]; [iv], 346, [46] pp. Folio (14-1/2" x 9"). Contemporary paneled pigskin, raised bands, early hand-lettered titles, shelfmarks and a bit of paper-label residue to spines, brass clasps to fore-edges. Light rubbing and soiling to boards, moderate rubbing to extremities, spine ends bumped, chipping to foot of spine of second book, light wear to board edges and corners, front free endpaper of first book lacking. Volume 1 title page printed in red and black, text in two columns. Moderate toning to interior, light browning in places, occasional light foxing, faint dampstaining to top-edge in a few places, minor worming to last fifty or so leaves of Volume 2 without loss to legibility, early annotations and small ink monastic library stamps to Volume 1 and Volume 3 title pages. $1,250. * Later edition. A treatise in question-and-answer format discussing monastic life as it relates to canon law, particularly matters of ecclesiastical privilege. The fourth volume, titled Praxis Criminalis Regularium, is not in question-and-answer format and deals with criminal procedure in canon law. The first edition was published in Salamanca in 1598 and the final edition in Lyon in 1634. Universal Short-Title Catalogue 150743.

Founded in 1983, The Lawbook Exchange, Ltd. is devoted to all aspects of law and its history. It has two main components. The Antiquarian Book Department offers a wide range of Continental, British, and American books, manuscripts, and ephemera from the medieval era through the twentieth century. The Publications Department offers reprints of over 1,000 landmark or otherwise interesting works, many with newly commissioned introductions, and several original publications. The Lawbook Exchange also offers appraisals and provides assistance with collection development. Originally a company that serviced law firms exclusively, it now serves thousands of lawyers,scholars, and institutions worldwide.
