Sobre este artículo
The Peace Association Of Friends In America, , 1909; 12mo (3 1/2" x 5 1/2"), 8 pages each. A pair of Quaker pacifism booklets with lessons exemplifying the power of forgiveness and non violence. In the first, the story is told of the virulent enmity between American statesman Daniel Webster and Missouri Senator Thomas H. Benton and how it was ended when Benton’s life was saved by a twist of fate after a cannon exploded during a firing exhibition on board the vessel Princeton. Benton felt the hand of God in the sparing of his life and one day he sent word to Webster to join him and his wife for dinner at their home. As bitter a pill as it was for him to swallow, Webster joined them, the two men thence becoming fast friends for the reminder of their lives. Later, Webster performed a like kindness for another, illustrating the chain of events set in motion by acts of goodness. The second story, as the title implies, is that of a young boy who decides to resist violence and turn the other cheek, resulting in the respect of his former adversary and the making of a new friendship. Both items Fine, clean, crisp, bright, sharp no ownership signatures or any other markings of any kind. Original booklets, not reprints.
