Moscow: Foreign Languages Publishing House 4 vols. Brown cloth boards, titles in black on spine, facsimile signature of Sholokhov on front board. Bindings secure, spines straight, corners solid. Water damage inside Vol 1, staining about half of the inside of the front board, the frontispiece, and a couple of blank pages. Does not reach title page or text block. Smaller water stain at lower edge of back board and in crease between final few pages. Again no evidence of staining to text block. No damp staining to other volumes. Wear to dust jackets, but each volume does have its jacket. Seldom seen in all four volumes, more seldom still with all four volumes in jackets. . Hardcover. Good+/Good. 12mo.
Sinopsis
And Quiet Flows the Don or Quietly Flows the Don (1934) is the first part of the great Don epic Tikhiy Don (Тихий Дон, literally "The Quiet Don"), written by Michail Aleksandrovich Sholokhov. It originally appeared in serialized form between 1928 and 1940. The English translation of the first half of this monumental work appeared under this title in 1934.

Our Internet business began in 2001. Upon visiting the store, we can show and sell individual online titles upon request. Store hours are 10:00-5:30 (Tues.-Sat.) and 11:00-4:00 (Sun.). The business is run by Richard Chalfin.
