"For two decades, Navajo artist R. C. Gorman has received the acclaim of critics and collectors for his virtuoso performances in the mediums of drawing and painting. When he turned to lithography in the late 1960s, the medium proved to be ideally suited to his unique talents. He has produced well over 100 studies, a total of some five to six thousand lithographs, which have brought him international recognition.
Here for the first time is a comprehensive gathering of his works in this challenging medium-from his first efforts executed in Mexico City in 1966 under the tutelage of master printer, José Sanchez, to a larger body of suite and individual studies produced at the world-famous Tamarind Institute in the first half of the 1970s, and later at other lithography workshops in this country..." Catalogue, general reference works, selected bibliography and index at rear. DJ with some light wear along edges, small closed tears and minor chips, some sunning to flaps. Very light wear to binding. Endpapers with some decolorization along edges. five small brown spots at upper right half-title. DJ in overall good, binding in good+, interior in very good condition.
