The dust wrapper, brightly designed by Kenneth Breese, is mostly clean, but with tears to the top and tail edges and handling marks throughout. It has not been price clipped and shows the original 16s net price. The boards are free from notable chips and marks and the text blocks are bright and white; the top, however, is very slightly marked. The internals are bright, clean and free from foxing. This copy is free from previous owners ink and is, overall, in very good condition. The author's second novel, and fourth publication, following 'The Poorhouse Fair', 'The Carpentered Hen' and 'The Same Door', not in that order. Sinopsis
Rabbit, Run , written by John Updike and first published by Alfred A. Knopf in 1960, follows a 26-year-old former high school basketball player nicknamed “Rabbit.” Imprisoned in a tedious job and a loveless marriage, Rabbit attempts to find freedom from his constrained middle-class lifestyle. The novel was republished in a 1963 Penguin Edition, which was the first to include more sexually risque passages cut by Knopf in the first edition. The first of the 'Rabbit Tetralogy', Rabbit, Run is perhaps the most sought-after title written by Updike.
