Nice, large format chromolithographed plate from Blackie's "The Comprehensive Atlas and Geography of the World" (1886). These particular plates are one of the points that makes this atlas so attractive and desirable. I salvaged these prints and maps from a broken and incomplete atlas, going against my normal policy of refusing to remove artwork from books. In this case, the book was beyond reasonable help, in my opinion. Details of the illustration are: Natives of Borneo: Saghai Dyak N.E. Coast, Loondoo Dyak S.W. Coast. Natives of Java: Priest, Lady, Gentleman. Condition: Very Good, with some light smudges to the paper and overall some minor wear to edges. Overall, clean and very nice colors. Jagged edge where it was removed from binding. Paper size is approximately 11.75 by 14.75 inches (30 x 37.5 cm). The sheet was too large to get a good quality picture that still included the entire sheet, so it is a little washed out and fuzzy.
