In this paper Marconi discusses some major improvements of his successfull wireless telegraphy. Dibner 72: "Marconi was 24 when he was transmitting radio signals from Salisbury to Bath, England, a distance of 34 miles. Working with the discoveries of Herz, Branly, Lodge and others he had combined and refined his apparatus to detect Hertzian waves at increasing distances. In July, 1897, the Wireless Telegraph Company was formed; two years later the English Channel was spanned and in 1901 a message crossed the Atlantic". This publication was reprinted from the Proceedings of the Royal Institution, 1911. Read before ther Royal Institution of Great Britain (June 2nd). In 1909 Marconi was awarded with the Nobel price for physics.
