FIRST EDITION (1911), small format, approximately 92 x 70 mm, 3½ x 2¾ inches, coloured frontispiece of little girl talking to little bird, green vignette and lettering on title page, text printed green throughout, 32 pages, bound in original publisher's red boards, large colour plate mounted on upper cover with title, floral patterned endpapers in mauve and green. Lower cover marked and lacking a piece of surface paper 65 x 10 mm (2½" x ½" - see image), tiny slight stain to upper corner of upper cover, light vertical crease at fore-edge margin to a couple of pages, contents clean.
