Good (cloth scuffed & edge-worn; corners rubbed to boards. back cover edge has a 3.5inch crack. upper spine has a deep chip w/ binding visible; lower spine rubbed & torn. cover endpaper torn; pastedown has ex-libris & adhesive staining. front endpaper nearly detached. dampstaining to lower textblock w/ remnants to cover endpaper edges, instances of light dampstaining to lower pg gutters & edges). black cloth w/ embellishments & gilt spine printing. 376 pgs. Hinges remain firm. Textblock and pages intact. Pages have instances of spotted or smudged foxing. Some pages will have tanning from laid-in, old 1900s New England newspaper clippings refering to the book's subject matter. A nice reading copy.
