Sobre este artículo

New York: W. W. Norton & Company, Inc.,, 1973. Inscribed to a prominent investor First edition, first printing, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper, "For Andrew Rudd with my best wishes Burt Malkiel". The recipient is a prominent American investor and financial writer. Malkiel's successful guide to personal investing is a witty and irreverent work which popularized the random walk theory. Malkiel's thesis is that movements in stock prices are entirely unpredictable - hence, the random walk - and that all complex market investment strategies are, therefore, fundamentally flawed. None of the self-proclaimed expert investment managers, in other words, can hope to outperform the market over the long-term. Despite this position, Malkiel devotes the third and final part of the work to providing "A Practical Guide for Random Walkers and Other Investors". Octavo. Original green cloth, spine lettered in gilt. With dust jacket. Slight spotting to edges, line of toning to rear free endpaper; jacket front flap clipped at foot with overprice at head apparently as issued, very slight sunning to spine panel, a few lines of rippling to jacket laminate: a near-fine copy in very good jacket.

Sinopsis

A Random Walk Down Wall Street, written by Burton Malkiel, a Princeton economist, is an influential book on the subject of stock markets. Malkiel argues that asset prices typically exhibit signs of random walk and that one can not consistently outperform market averages. The book is frequently cited by those in favor of the efficient market hypothesis. As of January 2008, there have been nine editions.
