Sobre este artículo
London; Methuen & Co. Ltd., 1935., 1935. Hard Cover. First edition. Octavo, pp. vii, [1], 242, [6] Muir catalogue, [8] forthcoming title catalogue. Publishers' scarlet cloth with black titles to spine and upper board in unclipped pictorial dust-jacket. Cover cloth bright; inner hinge cracked at p. 1 but holding well. Foxing to text-block edge and prelims, otherwise contents clean with no annotation or inscriptions. Jacket lightly soiled to lower white panel, with minor nicks & creases to edge. A very good copy in like dust- jacket. Scarce anthology of thirteen short stories introducing Dr Louis Raphael, a fashionable young doctor who gives up his practice in London's West End to study the scientific aspects of crime, acting as a consultant to Scotland Yard in cases such as 'The Kester Diamond Case, the 'Silver Mask' and 'The Terror of the Purple Room'. Charles Augustus Muir (1892 - 1989) was a Scottish journalist, novelist and historian best known for writing mysteries, many based in the Scottish Highlands. Rare, particularly in a well-preserved dust-jacket.
