Oxford University Press, London, 1971. Reprint. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. introduction by editor, note on the text, bibliography, a chronology of Edward Howard, textual notes and explanatory notes. Aqua coloured cloth covered boards with dark blue insert to the backstrip and within that backstrip gilt titles and gilt decoration and titles below the insert. Plain text dustwrapper with aqua and dark blue coloured background and white coloured tiles to the front panel and backstrip. This book was first published in 1836 and deals with the life of an orphan in the early part of the 19th century and then spoofs the adventure nautical book popular at that time. Very light age toning of the text block edge and the previous owners details to the lower right-hand corner of the free front end paper. The remains of the sticker can be seen to the lower left-hand corner of the same page. Minor rubbing to the dustwrapper corners and backstrip edges and faint fading to the backstrip.
