Bausch's first book INSCRIBED and SIGNED by him on the half-title page to the noted author of many sports books, Al Silverman: "with gratitude for his/considerable advocacy/and with warm/wishes for his future/life & work." Dated 10 June 1980 by Bausch, 6 days before the publication date. Among the many books written by Silverman is I AM THIRD, written with Gale Sayers, which was adapted for the 1971 television movie BRIAN'S SONG.
