In 2013 Tablet Magazine included it as one of their "101 Great Jewish Books," It is the autobiography of clarinetist Mezz Mezzrow (1899-1972), who was as famous for his drug life as he was for the historic jazz sessions with Sidney Bechet - to the extent that his name became slang for marijuana.This is a Very Good copy of the First Edition [stated "First Printing"]. Blue cloth binding with white lettering. 388 pages, indexed, and with several appendices, including a Hipster glossary. Mildly bumped and lightly soiled; light rub to the margins; spine faded a bit. Lacking a dustjacket; in an archival plastic protector. . First Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
