Sobre este artículo
London: Weidenfeld and Nicolson, 1975-1980. First edition. Cloth. Fine/Near Fine. 9" by 6". Not Stated. Three first editions of works by the award-winning novelist and biographer Margaret Drabble. The first editions of these three works in the publisher's original cloth bindings, with the original unclipped dust wrappers, except for The Realms of Gold, which has a price-clipped dust wrapper. Dame Margaret Drabble, Lady Holroyd is an English biographer, novelist and short story writer. She has won many awards for her writing, including the James Tait Black Memorial Prize for 'Jerusalem the Golden'. Her writing often provides ruminations about modern Britain and in-depth psychological studies of her characters. This set includes three of her novels: The Realms of Gold (1975) explores the mid-life experiences of anthropologist Frances Wingate and her affair with Karel Schmidt. The Ice Age (1977) follows the former BBC producer Anthony Keating as he experiences the ups and downs of the 1960s and 1970s, including the property crisis in Britain during that period. The Middle Ground (1980) explores British urban life through the eyes of middle-aged journalist Kate Armstrong. In the publisher's original cloth bindings, with the original unclipped dust wrappers, except for The Realms of Gold, which has a price-clipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is in lovely condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Dust wrappers are mostly very smart and bright, with just a little chipping to the folds of Realms of Gold, and sunning to the spine of The Middle Ground. Fine
