The dust jacket has soiling, a large closed tear on the top spine end area and some light fading on the spine area. Illustrated. 255 pages. .

A really nice copy of this mid 60's biography, which certainly had politicial overtones. Clean and bright, tightly bound, no marking or soiling. 256 pages, a few b&w photos, Thurmond always enjoyed the shock element; this time it was his very young wife moving into the Governor's mansion. And back then people were Shocked(in the Conservative South anyway). Dust Jacket has a little wear at the top of the spine and one small closed tear on the front. Excellent bright color to the jacket, which is covered with a removable mylar sleeve.

Small tape repair to verso of spine to close a small, triangular tear; Lachicotte's intimate portrait of Strom Thurmond (December 5, 1902 - June 26, 2003) , "an uncommon man, and an exciting record of political history in the making" . Thurmond eventually was South Carolina Senator for 48 years, ran for president in 1948; 8vo; [x], 255, [3] pages; Signed by All Authors .

VG+ to Near Fine in a price-intact, VG- dustjacket. The dustjacket is entirely intact but has noticeable scuffing to the front panel and light soiling along the back panel. Octavo, 255 pgs. Also includes publisher's original order form for this title and 1966 "Re-elect Strom Thurmond" pocket calendar. A wonderful piece of Southern history.
