David Cronin a long time UW-Madison history professor whose expertise focused on 20th century American political history and who authored "Black Moses" which chronicled the history of prominent Black Nationalist Marcus Garvey and his leadership of the Universal Negro Improvememnt Association. It was for many years the all-time best-selling volume published by the University of Wisconsin Press. The book also has the library stamps both of E. David Cronin and his National Book Award winning son William Cronon, also long time history professor at the University of Wisconsin. .
