Volume two covers the areas of Essex, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Huntingtonshire, Northamptonshire and Rutlandshire, Norfolk and Yorkshire. Volume three covers the areas of Lancashire and Westmoreland, Derbyshire, Cheshire and Shropshire, Welsh Counties, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire. Volume four covers the areas of Wiltshire, Somerset, Cornwall, Devon, Hampshire, Sussex and Kent. The Pilgrim Trust is a London-based charitable trust. It was founded in 1930 by a two million pound grant by Edward Harkness, an American philanthropist. The trust's first secretary was former civil servant, Thomas Jones. Today, the trust makes grants of roughly 1.5 million pounds each year. Around 60% of these funds are given to preservation projects, particularly those aimed at preserving the fabric of architecturally or historically significant buildings, or those aimed at preserving historically interesting artifacts or documents. The trust has a particular interest in the preservation of historic churches and their contents. With previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown to three volumes. In buckram bindings. Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
