Rouen: De L'Imprimerie de Martin le Mesgissier, 1601. 12mo. (13.5 cm x 7.5 cm), pp. [xvi], 216, [5] Table of Contents, decorated chapter initials. Original gilt framed, speckled calf, 4 raised bands, headbands present, speckled edges. Contemporary signature dated 1608 to first rear blank, ink signature of Ian F.G. Baxter, the late Professor Emeritus of Law, University of Toronto, to second front blank. Tanning to front and rear blank leaves, with margins of pastedowns and adjoining free endpapers rather darkened. Covers rubbed and scuffed, spine darkened, chipping to spine ends. Otherwise a very bright and clean copy of this early edition, first published in 1587. Text in French.. Full Leather. Very Good. 12 mo..
