Cover depicts an old woodcutter, Father Huddle, axe in hand, fleeing from the forest. charming alpine village in distance. This is a morality tale that admonishes children not to play with fire; l i sten to elders. Folktale elements include ten clever litttle gnomes who warn the children and eventually save them; a mythical Red Wolf; and animals who may be musicians. Book is worn but has only t wo small tears. pages and cover are intac t but well-read. An interesting hard to find book. Overall cond: fair-good..
