Original full leather (calf) binding with maroon leather spine label; moderately rubbed at the extremities. Minor foxing and soiling scattered throughout the text, with a small stain to the top corner of the final few pages. The Sixth Edition, with the added Sketch of Deerfield. Howes W461: "One of the most famous and most popular captivity narratives. Williams, a Harvard graduate, in charge of the church at Greenfield when it was attacked by Indians, in 1703, was taken, with others, to Canada, his wife and two children being tomahawked on the way.
