Sobre este artículo

Edinburgh: Archibald Constable and Co, 1824. First Edition. Good plus in original blue paper boards backed in drab paper, later printed paper labels to spines, soiling, spotting and wear to boards, spines repaired at some point, some insect damage to boards of vol. III, flyleaf to vol. I excised, with bookplates of O.C. Skinner to pastedowns covering earlier bookplates, ownership signatures of C. Davenport, Welford Rectory, to surviving endpapers. Nevertheless, desirable given the original boards.. Triple decker first edition in publisher's blue boards. The novel chronicles the start of a fictional third Jacobite Rebellion, and includes Wandering Willie's Tale, a short story which frequently appears in Scott anthologies. This work has been argued to be the most autobiographical of Scott's novels.

8vo. 3 vols. [4], 319pp., [1]; [4], 328pp.; [4], 331pp., [5, ads]. Todd & Bowden 178Aa (with comma in the title of volume 1, corrected to a full stop in volume 2. "Some copies" of the first edition may have commas in volumes 1 and 2 but that "most" were corrected, though no priority is given. With cancels as called for in first issue). Worthington 17 (with cancels and all but one spelling uncorrected).
