First United States edition of the third novel in Cooper's Littlepage Manuscripts trilogy written as a reaction to the Anti-Rent War (1839-1845) in upstate New York. The book is in about very good condition in its original binding: clean and tight, with moderate foxing throughout. Both front and rear leather joints have split, but the boards remain tightly attached by the cords and hinges.. First U. S. Edition. Hardcover. Collectible-Very Good-. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Book.
