Mary Steinherz, a lifelong collector of art, had a : "knack for acquiring unusual or neglected pictures which later came in vogue" . The artist states he "tried to capture the mood and spirit of the aphorism, rather than to depict a realistic image" Professor Harry Wasserman, an accomplished watercolorist, was a prize-winning chemist, member of the National Academy of Sciences .
