Bologna: Gioseffo Longhi, 1682 Antique theological work in Italian. Complete in 2 volumes. Roughly translates to Palace of the Widows of the Holy Father. On the lower half of the title page is stated Consecrata All' Illustrissima e Eccellentiss La Signora Principessa D. Teresa Pamfili Cybo Pricipessa de Carrara etc., or Consecrated the Most Illustrious and Excellent Lady Princess Teresa Pamfili Cybo, Process of Carrara, etc. By Girolamo Ercolani of Padua. Describe the lives of widows of religious importance. Condition notes: pages are clean, ivory to tan, and tight, except the half title of vol 1 is shaken and laid in, and the front pastedowns are torn and well scuffed; the text is in one wide column and narrow printed marginal notes; there is insect damage to about 30 central pages in vol 1that affects some of the margin notes; there are illustrations of each widow at the beginning of their chapter as well as tail pieces and decorated capitals; there is overall foxing and vol 2 lacks the ffep. Both volumes are full vellum with yapped fore edges and handwritten manuscript titles; there is moderate soiling. In quite nice condition for a set that is 335 years old.
