Includes eight page advertising supplement bound in to front end papers, with signature of Lt.-Col. Henry Gore Lindsay (Aug 26, 1830 – Dec 15 1914), who fought in the South African Campaign between 1852 and 1853, the Crimean War in 1855 and in the Indian Mutiny in 1857, where he was mentioned in despatches. He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Rifle Brigade and held the office of Chief Constable of Glamorgan, the office of Deputy Lieutenant of County Dublin, Deputy Lieutenant of Breconshire and Justice of the Peace for County Dublin. He lived at Glasnevin House, County Dublin. Rare. Blind decorated maroon cloth a little grubby, corners slightly bumped, some marks, ink signature and one inch tear to base of title page, crease to the fold-out illustration and ragged edge to same, otherwise clean and complete, binding just starting to front hinge, otherwise sound.
