Sobre este artículo

Boston: Ticknor and Fields, 1860. From The Twenty-Second London Edition Revised With An Original Preface and Notes By the Authors. Hardcover. Very good. Octavo; pp; 191; brown cloth decorated in blind, gilt lettered, brown coated endpapers; Besides the previous owner's inscription there are no other notes or marks on this very clean copy. Very good, a bit of wear at spine ends. Ticknor first published an edition of this book in 1840 at the suggestion of his clerk, Mr. Fields. A parody of contemporary leading poets; It was very successful. Pye #16 100 Most Significant Books Published by Tichnor & Fields. This is an interesting example as it has two bookseller's tags present, one from W. B. Clarke in Boston and another very stylish one from the Metropolitan Book Store, Philp & Solomons, Washington D. C. It is signed by a "D. W. Lee, Washington, Mar, 1864. Read by G.D. to F.C." Given the geography this could be a member of "the" Lee family of Virginia.
