Beograd, Yugoslavia: the quarterly, date unreadable. Al, you've got mail! -or we do. A wrapped-up package in ribbed kraft paper (very European) neatly strung up in twine (genuine twine) about one quarter of which is covered in "Jugoslavian" stamps (three different kinds, ten stamps all together) and a typewritten address label to Mr Young at his Palo Alto home. The item is unopened, on purpose, as we fear that opened it might prove way less interesting. A slightly foreign look, an unexpected addressee - a possibly uninvited fishing-for custom, approval, or status - we were intrigued and pleased with the look of the thing and perhaps you (the Al Young collectors we know are out there) will feel the same.
