This review of the Italian Renaissance by John Addington Symonds was originally published from 1875 to 1886 in 7 volumes. It is presented here in two unabridged Modern Library Giant volumes. The author was an English literary critic and poet. Volumes wrapped in slightly mismatched orange jackets. --- In Toledano spine G3 / blue cloth (vol. 1), rust (vol. 2) / gilt-stamped ML torchbearer device to covers / spine titling & decorations in gilt / faded blue topstain (v.1), faded red (v.2) / jacket style Gb, versos advertise 271 titles (v.1), 245 titles (v.2) in ML catalog. ML #G20.1 & G21.1. --- A clean, tightly-bound, unmarked set, though with mild sunning to edges of both volumes. Prices are blacked-over on unclipped dust jackets; with tears & chips to extremities and sun-fading to spines, v. 2 with large open tear at head of spine; both are otherwise intact and in removable mylar protectors.; Octavo - 8 to 9 in. tall; xx, [2], 970, xvi, 1060 pages .
